Rolling Hills is a home rule city in the northeastern portion of Jefferson County, Commonwealth of Kentucky. It is located along Westport Road just 11 miles from downtown Louisville.
Governing Body
The City operates under the statutes of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is guided by an elected Mayor and City Commission. The mayor serves a four-year term and the commissioners serve two-year terms.
Commission Meetings
Residents are invited to attend the City Commission's monthly meetings. At the meetings, you can voice your thoughts and concerns regarding the community and observe how the meetings are conducted. Regular meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month beginning at 7 PM. They are held at John Knox Presbyterian Church in the Parlor Room. Note that called (special) meetings may be held on other days. For those meetings, advance notice will be provided, and the purpose of the meeting will be stated.
Residential Neighborhood
The residential area, according to the most recent census, has a population of 959. Housing includes a mixture of apartments and single-family dwellings. The apartments are primarily on Kenlock Drive and Aylesbury Drive. Traditional, middle-class housing is spread throughout the entire city.
Public transportation is available on Westport Road. Both local and express service is available from TARC (Transit Authority of River City) as well as TARC 3, the transportation service for the disabled.
Rolling Hills Plaza
The retail area within the Rolling Hills boundary is Rolling Hills Plaza. This shopping center, though in existence for more than 60 years, has enjoyed a high occupancy rate from its early days up to today. Currently, the following businesses operate in the conveniently located shopping area.
